You must register your LexisNexis and Westlaw passwords. Your passwords will be suspended by Lexis / Westlaw if they are not registered! Registration takes only a few minutes.
If you have questions about the registration process, please stop by the reference desk in the Reading Room, 2nd floor of the Law Tower, for assistance.

Over the summer a number of changes were implemented to make access to the BU Libraries’ eResources more consistent for our users. You will no longer need to configure your browser(s) with the special law proxy script when accessing these library resources from off campus locations. EZproxy automatically insures that users get access to any databases and journals that are available to them based on both their group affiliations and the location of their accesses.
The only adjustment you might need to make to your browser is to ENABLE COOKIES.
When you are following a link from the BU Catalog, the Law Library eResources List, or any library research page all you will need to enter is your BU login name and Kerberos password. This is the same username and password combination that you use for the vast majority of things at BU, including access to e-mail. You will only need to enter this information once for each browser session.
If you are also accessing restricted electronic resources from non-library sites, such as CourseInfo pages, you may encounter a link that has not been configured for EZproxy. The old proxy server is still running so these links will work. You will need to configure your browser with the BU Law Proxy Server. (Having this script in your browser will NOT conflict with EZproxy use.)
Reference Librarians can assist you with eResources or with any access questions you may have.

Returning 2Ls who are beginning work with one of BU Law’s 6 journals can check the training schedule. The schedule includes separate sessions for each journal for tech check research and advanced training for Lexis and Westlaw; and there are “open” sessions for any staff member of any journal. It is not necessary to sign up in advance.
Tech check sessions begin on Friday, August 31. For anyone who cannot attend the session for his or her journal, there is an open tech check session at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sep. 7.
Lexis and Westlaw each require attendance at one session to get authorization to use its dedicated printer. Training sessions begin September 10.
