Did you take out student loans to pay for law school? Then you may want to take a look at the College Cost Reduction and Access Act passed in 2007.The act provides for a cap on monthly loan payments according to income as well as student loan forgiveness after designated periods of time.  It is set to become effective on July 1st. A summary of the Act is available on the NASFAA website.

An interesting battle between the South Carolina General Assembly and the South Carolina Governor over whether he has to apply for stimulus payments.  See the South Carolina Supreme Court’s recent decision.
