From the Massachusetts Trial Court Law Library website:
“Text your question to 978-6 LAWLIB (978-652-9542). Obviously, text works best for short answers, so if you need a more detailed response, be sure to include your email address. This is a brand-new service, so please bear with us while we work out any kinks.”
Now you can get answers to your legal research questions on the run.

With just over two weeks remaining in 2009, there may not be much time to make certain decisions that could affect your tax liability for the year. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) site provides information that can help, including its American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 Information Center and tips for charitable donations. IRS also posts a Frequently Asked Questions section, Tax Information for Individuals, the Fact Sheets for the 2009, and and an online Help With Tax Questions service.

As a group, the reference librarians specialize in finding useful resources in print and online. This includes hard-to-find historical material, material available only in microfiche, PDFs of modern and historical statutes and regulations, Congressional documents, legislative histories, international and foreign materials, and much much more. We can also help you find the correct citation for the stuff that we find or that you’ve already found. So, if you have questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. We’re never too busy to help.

The ABA appears to be putting more resources into providing access to free legal resources on the web. They have constructed a search engine to free legal journals on the web. It searches over 300 online journals as well as legal document repositories. It also provides links to those journals which have free content but must be browsed.
