March is National Women’s History Month
This month, the Library of Congress, the Smithsonian Institute, the National Archives and other organizations join in celebrating the contributions women have made to history, society, and culture. Although many of the events to celebrate National Women’s History Month take place in Washington, D.C., you can still take part by exploring some of the fascinating online exhibits highlighting achievements by women. For example, visit Experiencing War: Women of Four Wars (Stories from the Veterans History Project) or read the exciting tale of Alice Ramsey’s cross county trip in 1909, which made her the first women to drive across the U.S. in a car..
